Planning the Easy Way using Work Breakdown Structures
Just because the Patriots are out of the Super Bowl doesn't mean you can't party! This interactive session will provide an overview of three simple tools for project planning and help attendees to understand the benefits of using the Work Breakdown Structure as a project planning tool. Following a brief presentation on WBS development techniques, attendees will practice building a WBS in small interactive groups. We'll then use Critical Tools' WBS Chart Pro software to create and manage a WBS and link into a Microsoft Project plan for scheduling and delivering our party! Facilitated by Jan Wells and PM Providers' John Riopel and Matt Davis.

MPUG Certificate Program
Would you like to be more effective using Microsoft Project 2007 today? This certificate course is for users of Microsoft Project who need to plan, track and communicate effectively, even if your title doesn't include the words "project manager." Each session of the series is taught by an MPUG expert presenter as ranked by our community members. The series will begin by answering the question, "What is project management?" and then explain how Microsoft Project fits in the framework of project management theory. The series will then delve into the practical aspects of planning, communicating, and effectively tracking your projects. Sessions offered at 10:30 a.m. Eastern and 9 p.m. Eastern.
 The MPUG Certificate Program will be presented by two well-known Project instructors: Bill Raymond, VP for Pcubed Products & Services, and Sam Huffman, training and education expert with the Versatile Company. Bill Raymond, a Microsoft Project MVP, has served the project management industry for nearly 20 years with project experience ranging from managing commercial software releases to implementing ERP systems and developing business processes to build corporate governance policies and standards. Sam Huffman, MCITP and MCT, has been delivering training for The Versatile Company since 1996. Prior to that he worked at Microsoft as a member of the Project development and support team. Sam is a frequent content contributor to MPUG and speaks to large groups often about Microsoft Project and the discipline of project management as a foundation for success. In search of in-depth analysis to manage its resource utilization, Bentley Systems required the ability to extract actual resource time data from SAP and make it visible through Microsoft Project Server reporting.
