Mar 12: Resource Planning a "Tops Down" and "Bottoms Up" Approach
A primary reason for project failure is that resource management is inadequate. People are committed in the plan to the project but, in fact, are over-committed without managers being aware of the problem. Likewise, when a project slips, managers whose staff is on the project aren't aware of the impact the slippage poses to other efforts. This session will focus on how to do resource planning for the complete project lifecycle. You'll gain techniques for getting early warnings of resource problems. Presented by Rich Murphy, managing partner for EPK.

Apr 13: Critical Path 2.0, Part 1
Apr 14: Critical Path 2.0, Part 2
Critical Path Method (CPM 1.0) is a beautiful product of human logic. It helps project managers focus on activities that affect the project end date. However, some users say it takes too much time to identify and enter all the dependencies. Some say they hardly ever see a complete and reliable critical path in their schedule. Others say it doesn't work any longer when you start to level the workloads. In this pair of online sessions you'll experience a refreshing new look at CPM, which we're calling "Critical Path 2.0." Taken from presenter Eric Uyttewaal's upcoming new book, Forecast Scheduling with Microsoft Project 2010. Eric is the founder of ProjectPro Corp.
