Overview:
Would you like to be more effective using Microsoft Project 2007 today? This certificate course is for users of Microsoft Project who need to plan, track and communicate effectively, even if your title doesn’t include the words “project manager.” Each session of the series is taught by an MPUG expert presenter as ranked by our community members. The series will begin by answering the question, “What is project management?” and then explain how Microsoft Project fits in the framework of project management theory. The series will then delve into the practical aspects of planning, communicating, and effectively tracking your projects.

§ Experts desiring a refresh of the theory behind Microsoft Project and exposure to new tips and tricks
Delivery:
§ Online via your computer and internet connection using Microsoft LiveMeeting
§ Four 90-minute sessions
Certificate and PMI PDU Credit:
Frequency:
One session each week beginning January 20th. Series repeated quarterly in 2010
Recordings will be made available online for replay. Note! Only those attending live sessions will receive PMI credit and certificate. Members can make up any session in the series in the following quarter.

1. Project Management and Microsoft Project
Includes: What is project management? Microsoft Project and project management, roles, constraints and project organization.
2. Planning Effectively with Microsoft Project
Includes: Effective scheduling, work breakdown structure (WBS), estimating duration, setting dependencies, review of critical path and assigning resources.
3. Communicating and reporting with Microsoft Project.
4. Updating and tracking and closing projects.

Synopsis:
Microsoft Project Essentials Certificate series delivered via the web for MPUG Members
Overview:
Are you ready to start using Microsoft Project 2010? This certificate course is for users of Microsoft Project who need to plan projects, track projects, and communicate effectively with the latest version of Microsoft Project 2010. Each session of the series is taught by an MPUG expert presenter as ranked by our community members. The series will cover the new and improved features in Microsoft Project 2010 by reviewing and demonstrating how to do tasks with each. Tasks introduced through the series will also be supported by community dialog, articles and blog posts.

§ Online via your computer and internet connection using Microsoft Live Meeting
§ Ten one-hour sessions.
Certificate and PMI PDU Credit:
ü MPUG Certificate: Microsoft Project 2010 Features Expert
ü 1 PMI PDU for each session in series attended (10 PMI PDU total)
Frequency: 10 session series; one per month, beginning with the launch of Project 2010 (expected Q2 2010). Recordings will be available online for replay. Note: Only those attending live sessions will receive credit. Live sessions will be repeated once each month.
