Topics include, capturing resource demand in project requests, balancing portfolio selection based on resources constraints, and tracking resource progress and actual effort using timesheets.
Dan Ling is currently working as a Managing Consultant for Program Planning Professionals (aka Pcubed) headquartered in Ann Arbor Michigan. Dan’s project management career began in 1990 after he received his Electrical Engineering degree from Lawrence Technological University. Dan also has a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University and is currently a Great Lakes Chapter PMI member. Dan has obtained an extensive amount of process and technical knowledge around project management solutions for business through his various management roles at Rockwell Automation, AgentWare Systems, Perceptron, and most recently Pcubed.
Throughout his 18 year career, Dan has helped clients implement portfolio, program, and project management solutions using every version of Microsoft Project including Project Server 2002, 2003, and 2007 including Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server 2007. These solutions have helped clients solve IT, Product Development, and Manufacturing business problems for the Pharmaceutical, Health Care, Financial, and Automotive industries including some State and Local Government entities. Dan has also worked very closely with Microsoft to help launch the Microsoft Office Project products in the Midwest markets.
