Looking at File>Account>Product Info, you might see “Subscription Product – Microsoft Project Online Desktop Client” which is neither MSP Professional 2016 or MSP Professional 2019, but the “evergreen” evolution of them that is a part of Project Online. As with the rest of the Office 365 applications, the MPO Desktop Client receives feature updates regularly, depending on which update channel you’re on.

In place of “Subscription Product…”, you would see Project Professional 2016 or Project Professional 2019 (or Project Standard), if you’re on what Microsoft calls the “perpetual” license, today’s equivalent of buying the CD or DVD every few years.

Check this (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/OfficeUpdates/) page out, including drilling down into Office 365 ProPlus and Office (Perpetual), depending on what you have.
