I was wondering what others were doing to study for the Microsoft Project 70-178 Exam?
Are you using a study guide/would you find that helpful? Are there organized study groups in your area, or if not, would you be interested in joining a local study group if it was available? Maybe as part of your chapter meetings?
I shelled out for the MS Project Experts Ultimate Boot Camp on-demand course and didn’t have any problems passing the exam. It’s a bit pricey but I thought that it was worth the money to get up to speed on Project 2010 quickly. You can view the course at: projectservertraining.com/learning/ondemand2010.aspx
I don’t know if this will still work, but I got a discount by being an MPUG member. Enter “MPUGROCKS” in the promotion code field when you register. If it doesn’t, it might be worth an e-mail to MPUG to see if a discount is still available.
The guy narrating the course has a radio voice which I found to be slightly distracting. He also goes about 90 mph, so I spent most of the time camping on the pause button so that I could make notes or do the required action in the lab. Other than that, I thought that it was a really good course.
I took and passed the MSP 2007 exam and had some great test prep questions that were very thorough on use of the program. Doing so made studying for the 2010 exam much shorter and easier to take/pass. To me the exam seemed to focus more on what the new features were rather than the more holistic testing of the many features and proper uses of the program as I had in the 2007 exam.
