Automatic selection of workstream based on timing

Hi all,

I am trying to implement a standard project process, which will be used for several projects starting at different times, but following the same steps. The complication is, that these processes will feed into one of several external review cycles. These review cyclesoccur at fixed dates 5-6x per year, starting a specific deadlines. Depending your timing, you would therefore make it into different review cycles processes and I would like the standard process to automatically pick the correct review cycle based on the timing. The manual solution would be to implement all review cycles and add a deadline to make sure that MS Project throws an error for those review cycles you cannot reach and then (manually) render the review cycles which you are not entering inactive. However, I would like to have an automatic solution. Any suggestions how this could be implemented using VBA or other means would be greatly appreciated.
