Business Intelligence and Custom Fields

I am configuring Business Intelligence for reporting. I have quite a few custom fields. The video associated with the link below was quite helpful for adding simple non-hierarchical, non multi-choice custom fields. Howerver I’m having difficutly adding more complex custom fields, for example hierarchical fields or multiple custom fields that point to the same table. Any advice?
