Custom field update

I have 4 dates custom field
1. date 1
2. date 2
3. date 3
4. date 4

First i will update date 1 custom field the value should go and sit in the date 4 custom field
Second If i update date 2 custom field the value in date 4 custom field should be replaced with date 2 custom fields value
third If i update date 3 custom field the value in date 4 custom field should be replaced with date 3 custom fields value

Is there any formula we can use for this scenario?
