      Hi,

We are looking at upgrading from EPM 2007 to EPM 2010 and at the same time moving to a hosted or cloud service. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? What things should we be looking out for (positive and negative)?

Paul, moving from an in-house to cloud deployment is pretty easy.  It is a matter of copying the dbs to your hosting partner as part of your migration strategy.  Any of the major Project Server hosting firms (Project Hosts and Bemo are two good ones) are great at supporting this scenario.  The bigger issue is manaing the changes and capabilitites that come with Project Server 2010.  I suggest consulting with a proven Project Server partner to support your successful migration.  EPM Solution Partners is a network of independent consultants that specializes in providing solutions for Project Server needs.  We get you the right people at the right price from a single source.  You can find additional information on our web site at http://www.epmsolutionpartners.com.

Hello Larry, thank you for the vote of confidence for BeMo. You are absolutely correct moving to the cloud is a scenario we handle very well at BeMo and teaming up with an EPM consultant to manage the change internally is key to success. That being said, I would like to invite Paul check us out at http://www.bemopro.com and get in touch with our sales sales@bemopro.com to discuss about a move and migration from 2007 on premise to 2010 hosted.

      Paul,

We used BeMo as a hosting service Project Server 2010.  Our environment was not ready to support SharePoint 2010 Enterprise at the time precluding us from using our on-premise infrastructure.  The setup was smooth and was done in less than a week.  We used our licensing for all the software and the BeMo team were instrumental in getting this setup.  The connection speed was very good and the security was good.  You will need to outline a plan prior to the migration and be sure to communicate your needs for any extras like workflow, BI reports, and any add-ons you may require.  This will avoid delays when you start to use the system.  We would not have been as successful with our migration without the BeMo service.  Joel Lachance and his team are experts at this stuff.
