Hi all:). I’m newb to forum & MS Project.

I work in construction & to get more opportunities as assistant construction superintendent/assistant construction manager, i need to take a some kind of online certification course, that’ll cover basic-to-intermediate knowledge of project 2016 (if none avail., then 2013). the actual issued certification itself is very important, because my employers/contracting firms changes regularly. my skill level is fine, as i use office & other software programs at work.

-this is first time on mpug, so i’m still going thru the courses… am i able to get cert on mpug?
-i’ve seen the ms exams 70-348 Managing Proj./Portfo. w/PPM & 74-343 Managing Proj. w/MS Project. lol- these seem way above my head for
    my short-term goals???
-udemy seems to have good options for me (let me know, if you think one course is better than another).

yes, so if any of you have suggestions, to put me on right track, to finding online MS Project Certification it’ll be greatly appreciated.

Based on your skills and experience, I recommend one of the following options

Option 1: Become an MPUG member (check out the 1-week trial membership page https://www.mpug.com/membership/trial-8372948/). Watch the on-demand Project 2016 Certification Essentials https://www.mpug.com/microsoft-project-2016-essentials/ training. Though, I doubt if your employer will consider watching on-demand webinars as a certification and give credits. So, better check with your employer before proceeding with this option. If you would like to go with this option and want to learn at your own pace, you can upgrade to premium membership for $119 / year (https://www.mpug.com/membership/) that gives you access to other resources besides certification courses.

Option 2: You can look at edx self-paced course on “Managing Projects with Microsoft Project” with instructors from Microsoft – https://www.edx.org/course/managing-projects-microsoft-project-microsoft-cld213x-1. This is a free course. You want to can add verified certificate for $99

Option 3: If you are also looking for detailed videos besides the above two options, then you might be interested in watching my Microsoft Project 15 Videos Series in YouTube- https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLJ7RzxiMGQoFneoEXs_e7lx3nQbQmJCPH&v=gJDoVtoiTTI

    Hi Delveechio
I am in the process of constructing a series of courses dedicated to achieving Microsoft Certified Professional certification using the 74-343 exam. This is for serious users of the product and I’ve split the course into three sections as follows:
    1. Perfecting Microsoft Project Part 1 – Initiation and Planning
    2. Perfecting Microsoft Project Part 2 – Monitoring and Controlling
    3. Perfecting Microsoft Project Part 3 – Certification with the 74-343 Exam
The reason I’ve split the course in this way is because many people assume that they have a solid knowledge of the product for the preparation of plans at the Project Initiation stage. They usually have no real idea how to use it to monitor and record project progress. However, even if they consider themselves to be an expert in the use of Microsoft Project (and indeed they may be), they most likely have no idea of the approach required to pass the Microsoft Certification exam. The exam is not easy in the sense that you really need to practice in a very specific way. So anyone who is using the product on a day to day basis will benefit greatly from my Part 3 course, which teaches them how to approach the actual exam.
I am drip feeding the course contents at the moment and for anyone who is interested I am offering all three courses at a massively discounted rate of €120. The final course cost for each part will be €250 per course. There is no comprehensive offering in the market which really teaches you how to get the MCP qualification, apart from one offered by Prodigy Learning at a cost of €1700.
The only requirement which I need in order to offer access is that you agree to beta test the courses and provide feedback on the contents and quality.
If you are interested I will provide limited access so that you can assess the quality of materials and review my qualifications in this subject area.
    Regards
    Dave
