Password protect a Resource Sheet

I am using MSP 2010 (not Pro just the basic version). I have multiple projects and users updating files and we are all linking to a shared resource pool. My question is – if I want to password protect the shared resource pool can my users still access their linked files or will they also need to have the password to update/access their files?

And how are you planning on password protecting that file Gretchen? Resource pools are inherently insecure, and difficult to manage if there is any information in the pool that you need to protect. That’s the big flaw here.
