      If you are using Project Server, how do the project managers track and report progress on tasks assigned to resources?

      The resources usually reports their own progress in PWA.  Starting with MSP 2010, if a resource doesn’t have access to a computer (maybe a resource on a construction site), another person can be set to always report progress for them, using the “Default Assignment Owner” feature.  If another person needs to report status for a person on just a few tasks, you can set an individual assignment’s “Assignment Owner” field in the Task Usage view.
