Resource Groups and Team Resources

Hi,

In MS Project server, there is an option to add Team details for resources. If that is done, the resources in the team can assign tasks to themselves. There is also another option called Resource Groups.

Can someone please explain the difference between Resource Groups and Team Resources and suggest the best use of the same.

Hi Gopika. There’s a lot of information online that can provide details about groups and team resources, but I’ll try to give you a quick comparison to start. Think of Groups as a resource utilization function for rolling up like resources. Team Resource Pools is a way for team members to assign themselves to a task. They certainly have similarities, but Microsoft configures the two for different purposes. Hope that helps…
