NBCUniversal’s Television & Studio Operations complex project portfolios needed to be standardized and aligned for optimization across their famed 30 Rockefeller and Universal City Campuses. NBCU choose Project Online to help deliver an innovative solution marrying, their existing Six Sigma culture with the principals of portfolio, program and project management enabling the NBCU team to rationalize their portfolio, track KPIs and enhance communication across the group.

Matthew Sorin
Matthew Sorin is the Director of Portfolio Management for NBCUniversal’s Operations & Technical Services (O&TS) organization. The O&TS project portfolio includes capital build projects for Studios, Control Rooms, Facilities, Critical Infrastructure, Tech Operations and Security, working closely with the Operational & Technology teams on strategy, budgeting, planning, execution and governance. In this position Sorin has played a key role in several strategic initiatives, notably serving as Program Manager for the renovation of 1 million square feet of office space including the 30 Rockefeller Center headquarters building, more recently Sorin implemented a standardized planning & governance process across the TV Operations project portfolios and a comprehensive portfolio/program/project management system across all O&TS portfolios enabling improved cross functional insight into portfolio performance and robust KPIs.

Prior to his current role Sorin gained PPM experience working for Informa Plc where he launched and later ran the PMO and Data Services teams across North and South America. While at Informa he led the implementation of multiple SaaS Order Management, Marketing, & Sales solutions including serving as the Global Program Manager for the Implementation of O365.

Sorin has a Master Degree in Project Management from DePaul University, a MBA in Entrepreneurship and is a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. He resides in Brooklyn with his wife and daughter.
