PMI Teams Up with Pearson VUE on Exams and Digital Badging

The Project Management Institute has signed Pearson VUE to provide computer-based testing for one of its certifications. Under the partnership, the testing provider will allow people to take the exam for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) at one of the company’s 5,600 testing centers They can also tackle the assessment through Pearson VUE’s online proctoring system, which allows test-takers to take the exam at home, school or company.

PMI will also use Pearson VUE’s digital badging platform, Acclaim, to issue digital badges to PMI-certified professionals. The credentials issued through Acclaim can be shared on popular social sites, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter as well as in email and other online destinations. The badge may be verified by clicking on it to expose metadata listing who earned the badge, what the badge represents and what organization issued the badge.
