      Project Pro 2010
I need to create calendars that shows a work period as follows.

Full day: 7 am to 7 am the following day.
Day shift: 7 am to 7 pm
Night Shift: 7 pm to 7 am the following day.

It won’t let me create the Full day calendar.

      Any help would be appreciated.

go to Project ribbon, the Change Working Time, For Calendar drop down select 24 Hours. but if you do not see this option I don’t see why you can not create one, I have done it many times. I believe that your problem is that it considers 24 hours from 12:00am to 12:00am.

If you have done this many times, please advise how. I am in similar situation as Ed in that my Monday starts on Sunday evening. I have been able to set up a 24-hr calendar, but I have to end a shift a minute early i.e. at 11:59. This leaves me with an odd minute so a job spanning three shifts over three days cannot have 24 hour duration. It will be 23 hours and 57 minutes….or if I force duration at 24 hours the job ends three minutes into the shift on the 4th day.

Please remember if you select 24 hours calendar, your resources will be working 24/7. Since you have two shifts day and night, use the project standard calender for both shifts separately and adjust the hours. If you still want to change your 24 hours calendar to 7 am to 7 am, do the following

      1. Go to Project–> Project information
      2. Select the calendar as 24 hours calendar
      3. Go to Files –> Option –> Schedule, change the default start and end time to 7 AM
      4. Change the hours per week value to 168h

      Hi Prakash – Good thought.

One change, on any day in the WorkWeek “From” time should be greater or equal to 12 AM and greater than “To” time of the previous shift on the same day. “To” time should be less than or equal to 12 AM and less than “From” time of the next shift on the same day

the end time should be greater than its start time and should be less than or equal to 12 am. Also,

So, I would recommend two create three shift base calendars
      a) 7am-7pm base calendar: Work Weeks, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 7 pm
      b) 7pm-7am base calendar: Work Weeks, Monday – Friday, 12 am – 7 am, 7 pm – 12 am | Saturday, 12 am – 7 am
      c) 7am-7am base calendar: Work Weeks, Monday – Friday, 12 am – 7 am, 7:01 am – 12 am | Saturday, 12 am – 7 am
