Do MS Project 2010 EPM and Portfolio Server 2010 finally share a common enterprise resource pool?  If so, where does the administration of the shared enterprise resource pool take place.

      Hi John,
Yes, they do.  in 2010, Portfolio Server is not a separate product.  The Portfolio features are fully integrated into Project Server and so it all is combined – including Resource Pool, Custom Fields, Departments, etc.

When you connect your client application to the server, you can create enterprise projects that pull resources from the enterprise resource pool.  Although the resource pool data actually resides on the server, you do the actual editing of the resources within the client.
When you add resources to your project, you can add them from the enterprise resource pool if you are connected to the server or you can map disconnected resources to enterprise resources when you upload a project to project server as part of the upload process.
