Our company’s fiscal year starts in November, so FY2014 runs from November 2013 to October 2014.  In Project Professional 2010 you can set what month the “Fiscal year starts in” under File, Options, Schedule, and then in Gantt Chart view the timescale will show that “2014” starts in November instead of January.

Is it possible to achieve the same result in PWA 2010?  I have set up fiscal periods in Project Server 2010 using Server Settings, Fiscal Periods, but when I view a schedule in PWA (from within Project Center) the timescale shows that 2014 starts in January.

      Thank you,

      Lee,

Our fiscal year begins in February through January with 52 periods.  This is done the Time and Task Management/Time Reporting Periods section.  It is here where you define the yearly breakdown.  Each period will be established when you click the “create bulk” button.  You should review the periods created to see if they match your desired dates.  You can open/close these time periods to control the entries on resources timesheets, as needed.

To control the start/finish dates on newly created projects you can build a template that all PM’s will select as an Enterprise Project Type (EPT) for consistency.  Of course, the PM can override any of these dates.

      Hopefully this addressed your question.
