I have a master schedule that contains multiple sub projects managed by other project managers. Till now we are using one point of contact (which is me) to update each of the sub projects in the master schedule. While I update the schedule, I also observe impacts (date shift/timeline changes etc) to interdependent sub projects and communicate to the work streams accordingly.

Moving forward, we have decided to have the work stream project managers to go ahead and update their sections in the Master schedule. The idea is to have them update their sections and I will go in to the master schedule to analyze for any down stream impacts.

I’m wondering whether there is a way to see all the activities for which the dates have been changed/modified since I last logged in to the schedule.

Any solution will be highly helpful.

Kedhar, best I can offer is to setup one of your currently unused baselines to snap just before you leave the project. Then use that baseline for variances the next time. Hope that helps.

Larry – that’s a good suggestion. Thank you so much! I may even plan to record a macro to take a baseline before exiting the project file.

That’s funny because I was actually going to add that to my answer, but decided not to because most people wouldn’t know how to do it. Then that leads to a whole nother subject. Glad you got the whole solution nailed. Good luck…
