      Hi, I have a very long project of many tasks. This master project as sub projects that are all linked together. I want to have a summary task that links to one predecessor with a Start to Start type but I also want it linked to the finish date of another.

      I know that summary bar does this but unfortunately, my sub project section has multiple tasks that I dont want summarized. Is there a way that I can do this? Please let me know. thanks!

      Ricardo;
      It sounds to me like you are trying to create a hammock task. There are lots of articles on how to configure a Hammock task available of the web. Here is a link to one that I found that explains what they are and how to set them up.

      I hope this is what you are looking for.

      Yes, a hammock is what you are looking for. I’ve personally found the OLE method (i.e. copy-paste special) to be pretty flaky – certainly not robust over the long term.

      An alternate method is to create a separate summary containing two milestones that are logically tied to the corresponding predecessors. On the bar chart you can format it to look like any other task….
