My goal in 2012 is to get MS Project certified by Microsoft.  Can some of you who have been certified share some best practices on studying for the exam, and best studying tools to use for being superbly prepared to sit for the certification?  Thank you.

As one of the authors of the exam I can tell you to concentrate on the new features of MSP 2010.  You can use just about any of the reference books but you should know hold to use the software more than where a button is located.  For example – what view would you use to see something or what table.  Know the features of both the pro and standard version.  Project Server is not mentioned on the test.  Also look at the Microsoft site to find the objectives for the test and make sure you understand all of those topics.  You might also feel more comfortable by taking a substantial (not button pushing) class.

      Good luck.

Michael, The MPUG WebNLearns are a great resource (free to members) and the Certificate Series is a good walkthrough to start. From a book perspective, check out Howard and Chefetz’s ‘Ultimate Study Guide to Microsoft Project’ (you can even hear Mr. Howard directly through the WebNLearns). Good luck…
