We have just upgraded from 2003 to 2010. My users are complaining about how slow MS Project 2010 is in
opening project files. Depending on the spead of their laptops, it takes from 60 to 90 seconds to open a
6 mb (average) project file. This is much too slow when reviewing projects in a meeting. What do you
suggest to spead things up. I have tried the ‘save as’ trick but it does not make the files any smaller and the
startup time remains the same. By the way, it takes about 30 seconds to close a project file even if not changes
have been made.
Do you experience the same problem with the files originally created with Project 2010 ?
Have you updated Project 2010 ?
What is SP number of Project 2003 used ? Is it SP3 ?
Was there a solution found for this?
My organisation has recently converted from 2003 to 2010 and were suffering from the same problem!
(Yes I know it is now 2015.)
