There is a section within Project Server 2007 for reminders and alerts. This contains your alerts and reminders along with another section for alerts and reminders that you can push down to resources on your project.
The only function in SharePoint, by default, is to subscribe to a task list as a user, however it does not work as a reminder. It is based on a change or new item.
