      Task A lasts X long (24/7 scheduling)
      Task B lasts Y long (working days only)

      Not sure what the question is, but I’ll assume its how to do this.
      Define your normal work calendar, for example, M-F 8-5. Make that the project calendar and by default, Task B will use that calendar since you didn’t override it at the task level.
      Create a 24×7 calendar and on Task A, attach that 24×7 calendar to that task.
