  I am wondering if you know how to get the standard tier 0 milestone symbol into the pick list in the “Bar Format” in MS Project. I am evaluating MS Project as a tool and if MS Project is going to be a good option it will need that MS symbol available.

  Keith, good question. I haven’t heard that this is a standard but the symbol (at least something a lot like it) is available. Here’s how you can change the milestone symbol to the symbol above.
  1. From a Gantt chart view, Format / Bar Styles from the Format ribbon
  2. Select the Milestone row (it should be the third row)
  3. Then on the bottom of that window, in the first column for start, select the Shape that you want to show for Milestones (I think there is a shape very close to what you are showing above.
