Project Pro 2013 Save hanging

My group upgraded to MS Project pro 2013 recently.
We created a project that we use as the master resource pool (with individual base calendar for each resource) and share the resources among all our projects by linking projects to this master resource pool. It was working fine in 2010 but now we have all kind of issues… Duplicate calendars and the last one is the save hanging when we try to assign a resource from the project that is using the resource pool. THe error message says: “Project cannot be closed since the save action is still being processed. Wait for the save action to compelte and then close project.”
