Hello, the Project Online system (PWA) has been designated to be the system that holds all project information. However, one of our departments does not want to participate and would rather stay in Excel to track their work. I need to use their Excel data to update their projects in PWA. Does anyone know how to do that?
This might be a bit outside the box but maybe the best solution is to allow them to keep their schedules in Excel. Create a Project Type for them that doesn’t display the schedule tab will allow them to track projects but with no schedule. If they save their Excel task list in SharePoint you could add a field for “Excel Tasks URL” that will give others a path to the document. Hope that helps…
We are in need of track a few milestones for the projects in that SPI has been introduced to the organization.
I do find your idea quite interesting but I may need to have a few items loaded into PWA to address out KPI (SPI).
